Educators and service staff are trained annually in healthy eating curriculum/education for children, and in implementing healthy eating practices
Currently:
- all primary contact educators have participated in professional development or training in practices which promote healthy eating for children in the past year;
- the service provides educators with additional support or resources to improve healthy eating for children;
- the service menu planner/cook has completed training in planning, preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks in the past year; and
- the service menu planner/cook is provided with menu planning support.
However:
- not all primary contact educators have participated in professional development or training in healthy eating curriculum/education for children in the past year.
What can we do to meet this healthy eating practice?
To meet this practice, it is recommended that:
- all primary contact educators participate in professional development or training in healthy eating curriculum/education for children each year.
